Areas in Pune
Pune city has been developing in a circular fashion. The Mula Mutha river cuts the city into two equal halves', the Western quadrant being Aundh, Baner, Pashan, Balewadi, Bhavdhan etc and the eastern belt being Kalyaninagar, Vimananagar, Nagar road, Kharadi. Aundh, Baner, Wakad, including Balewadi, Bhavdhan, Hinjewadi from one end and Nagar Road to Kharadi have become the prominent IT corridors for the city. Because of influx of IT, the residential demand has been very high for the past 2 years and the trend will continue even more as these are established destinations now.
Among the areas seeing a lot of investments in residential properties are Bavdhan, Aundh, Mundhwa-Hadapsar, Nagar Road and parts of Kothrud where the outlook is for sleek, posh residences set with swimming pool and a gym. Sprawling residential colonies, self-contained townships, steel-andglass office towers, dazzling shopping malls, multiplex complexes, and huge IT parks are coming up all over the city, transforming once sleepy neighborhoods.
New projects are getting increasingly plush, complete with swimming pools, health clubs and much more, designed to appeal to the young, up market professionals - particularly those in the IT sector - who are increasingly making the city their home. These new home owners are asking for-and getting - much more than home owners a generation or two ago could ever dream of. Today's projects are even designed to help beat stress, and be as intelligent as their owners.
Pune is one of the most sought after city after Bangalore. Infact with its fast track development, Pune is soon on the verge of becoming the number one in terms of real estate. "The proximity to Mumbai, the development of the Chakan Talegaon belt as industrial area and the beautiful weather all add up to be the plus points for people's choice to settle in Mumbai," quips many of the developers in the city.
